Cet été était placé sur le signe de la séparation, des retrouvailles puis à nouveau séparation. J’ai quitté mes amis de l’INT et de prépa, je les ai revu en Juillet le temps d’un week-end, j’ai retrouvé ceux du lycée le temps d’un voyage en Corse (dont je garde pleins de bons souvenirs) et en Août j’en ai revu d’autres, mais maintenant c’est de ma famille que je me sépare. Je suis sûr que je n’arriverais pas à me retenir de verser des larmes pour le départ :’(

Ainsi, je pars avec une certaine inquiétude, la peur surtout de ne pas pouvoir faire face à l’inconnu et la solitude, mais j’ai la ferme intention de ne revenir de toute façon qu’une fois cette peur vaincue, et mes objectifs personnels atteints. J’ai encore le temps d’y réfléchir, rendez-vous dans 4 mois pour savoir comment j’aurai évolué

Bref, tout ça pour dire que j’ai en main mon destin, plus question de fuir désormais. Comme beaucoup d’entre vous me le disent, c’est une formidable opportunité qui m’est offerte, et je dois en profiter à fond !

Ne vous inquiétez pas, je suivrai votre conseil à la lettre ^^

We went to the beach, but the Mistral blew at 90km/h, so it was really windy !
Although the sea was very agitated, we took a bath, and enjoyed the strong waves that stroke us and made us move like a bottle inside a stormy sea, carrying us back to the shore. Hopefully, the water temperature was very pleasant, and when we left the sea for the beach, we were frozen by the wind lol !

Anyway, I was happy to talk of various topics with you Alexandra, and I hope to see you soon again !
And don’t worry, you will get news from me even when I will be some thousands kilometers away on the other side of the earth ^^

PS: I thought Hercules Poirot was an old and boring tv series, I was plain wrong, I might start watching it now

I won’t give all the details here (somethings I have done are not to be read by some people: don’t want to scare them lol), but I will leave you with some photos of landscape.

Back to the topic, I currently can’t keep dreaming about one person (it can’t be helped, I miss her) and also about one city…
Since only one of these dreams can be fullfilled, I keep teasing me all the day by watching photos and videos about the city. Let me share with you another splendid sight !

• 1) I got a new haircut, to change my look (do not tell me nobody cares, I already know lol ….)
• 2) A new revision of the RSS 2.0 Bittorrent Feed White Paper will be on work in one week, I am glad to see this document has launched discussions and is interesting people
• 3) Torrent Trader Lite v2.0.1 is in beta test, it will be released next week. I have fixed some bugs I noticed, and implanted the rss 2.0 update following the recommandations I wrote
• 4) Vbulletin Torrent Tracker 3.0 is under heavy work, estimated ETA is around 20 August. You can get a look at latest screenshots of the work in progress here
• 5) AMD bought ATI today, for 5,4 billion dollars. This, for sure, will change the landscape in the computer world. When two giants start working together (for the good, and THE BAD), what can we expect ? Wait and see …
• 6) I have received today my VISA for Hong-Kong !!! I am now 1 month far from the HK adventure !
• 7) I am going in holidays for one week in Corsica. This was totally unforecasted, my best friends offered me to come, and I couldn’t say no ^^. So, I will be back on 1st August ! Good week all

Still one month and one week before I can see this splendid sight with my own eyes.
I am really eager to go !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I finished a custom job someone requested me to do: it is a modified version of a Movies Listing script, which retrieves all informations directly from the IMDB database.

I have added to it more features, like NFO upload, nfo2png conversion, more criterias for categorizing …

So, how did I enjoy my week-end, and how did I spend my time ? Every morning, I went to the swimming pool and stayed there swimming during 2 hours. Then I did some shopping (just looked, bought nothing) in the village. The afternoon, after reading something while sun-tanning on the balcony of the apartment, I went for a walk. And when it became late, around 7 pm, I just got enough time to come back before summer storms broke up, and I avoided rain. And the night ? Sleeping ! Because I am not used to do so much sportive activities in my everyday’s life, and I was really exhausted by the end of the day lol.

I have attached some photos from the walk I made on Saturday, enjoy the sight !

These photos were taken while climbing to the Col Vert. My father and me started from Villard de Lans (1000 meters high) and climbed up to the top of this hill (1766 meters high) in less than 1 hour and a half. 4.7 kilometer long, this is not a hard walk, it just requires a good habit of walking. The nice thing is when you come to the top, you have an incredible sight of the whole area, which includes Villard de Lans, but also all neighbour villages. It’s simply splendid, there’s nothing else to add.

PS: you can compare with the photos of my post “Sweet walks in Provence” to see the differences between Isere (we’re almost in the Alpes), and Provence: not only is the vegetation different, but also the global aspect, the rocks, … , and also the inhabitants (the cows ^^) !

There had many animations, like karaokes, projections, cosplays … though I am a bit restrained on them, because finally, there were all overcrowded and it was hard participating, or at least seeing them, despite the giant screens. It’s one of the main drawback of huge events like this one: the more stands there are, the more people there is, the less you can see things and the longer you have to wait in queues … So on one side you can see exclusive things that you can’t find in smaller expo, but on the other side you have to wait a lot, and you loose a big part of your time of the day waiting in queues. Among the various animations available, I have noticed: learning GO, learning SHOJI, comics drawing with a computer, calligraphy, a “Kyoto stand” with traditional games, karaokes, a live TV Show, a Maid Coffee ^^, …

The best day was surely friday, because it was less crowded. So I have been able to play on several arcade machines, with the latest hits from Japan. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to play that much on the latest DDR machine, I could try it only once. The DDR competition on Sunday was really impressing, the level was really high and the score difference was really tiny between the competitors: if you miss a perfect, then you are dangerously decreasing your chances of winning. How many years will I have to train to get the same level ?

If you are fan of cosplay, then you can’t miss the Japan Expo: you will see on the scene some of the best costumes of your favorites heroes, and of course all hand-mades.
Also, this event was good to see various fanzines writers: I have seen on no other places such a wide variety: shojo, shonen, seinen, chibi, yaoi, hentai ?!! all genres were present, and the quality of the magazines was really high: some of them looked like mangas ! The time when fanzines were printed with desk printers is for sure now over.

So, if your idea is to come for shopping comics and dvds, seeing cosplays and some other japanase cultures related animations, then I am sure you would have been pleased by the Japan Expo. See you on edition 2007.

Although, if you are more interested in discovering the japanese culture, playing videogames than in shopping comics and dvds, and without having to wait hours before getting your turn, then you will prefer smaller events.
