A tribute to Jacky Chan ! (April 13, 2008)I know it’s been a long time since I posted something on my blog, but I won’t post today personal news (although there are many hihi)
Today, I would like to dedicate this post to my favorite actor of all times: Jacky Chan
Since I am kid, I love all Jacky Chan movies: it’s fun, there’s great action and stunts, and to me Jacky Chan is more than an actor, he is a LEGEND !!!
A friend of mine sent me today a video of some of the most spectacular / dangerous stunts of Jacky Chan, and I decided to put on my Wixi the video plus a full reportage on Jacky Chan stunts!
Check it out and tell me if you’re a big fan too

Graduation Day! (March 14, 2008)Finally, today has come! The Day, with a capital D! Why am I pretty much excited about it ?
Because this day is officially marking the end of my student life: I will attend the Graduation Ceremony of my engineering school (Télécom INT) and have in hands my diploma!
Of course, in France, I do not expect the big university ceremony that I saw in Hong-Kong or in many american movies, but still, I hope I will see again
people I met in my school and I lost contact with, and that I will keep a good memory of that moment.

Photos will come tomorrow!
Life is full of surprises! (March 13, 2008)Photo taken at office the other day, we had a nice rainbow just in front of us!
Cheer up

New software: IMDB Movie Database Crawler / Importer (March 5, 2008)I am glad to announce my latest Web crawler software: the Internet Movie DataBase (aka IMDB) Crawler!

IMDB Crawler / Importer: this program will fetch all the details you want (such as movie title, year, plot, writer, director, actors …) from all the movies in the well known IMDB (www.imdb.com) movie database and import all these data into your website database!
Written in Java, it runs on any server platform, and is very powerful: up to 1 000 000 (1 million) movies indexed in 1 day as it supports multithreading and various speed improvments (taking into account IMDB anti-crawl protections)
This software is absolutely required for anyone willing to use Movie informations on his website!
New script: WordPress Bittorrent Plugin (March 1, 2008)I am glad to announce my latest script: a Bittorrent Plugin for Wordpress!
+
This first version (I plan to work on several bittorrent plugins for Wordpress soon) allows you to show Bittorrent Downloads on your Wordpress blog, based on any keyword you provide.
The plugin can show results from any/all of these sites: Bittorrent, Vuze, Mininova, Torrentz, Isohunt, SUMOTorrent, Monova, PirateBay, FullDls, Fenopy, BTJunkie, SeedPeer, NewTorrents, …
Here is an example for the keyword “rainbow“:

(this screenshot is taken from a site I worked onto)
You can find more informations about this product on this page:

Can words define us? (February 28, 2008)I don’t like categorizing someone just with a few words, I find it so much disrespectful and unpersonnal.
I think it’s impossible to judge someone at the first glance, and even though you know people for years you are still surprised by their character and behaviour.
However, on the Internet, this is totally another story: people have integrated “tags” (aka small words) to categorize and describe anything and everything.
Well, while I was doing some research and staying updated on the latest technology & web 2.0 news, I found that Quintura (a new kind of search engine), which shows you offering a widget that showed the tags cloud related to any search you make.
So I played with it a bit and searched for my name: “borget sebastien“:
And in reverse order (funny thing, it gave slightly different results): “sebastien borget“:
This gives some interesting information on all tags associated with my activity on the web, and how people can find my website by googling (or using Quintura ^^)
However, to the question: “Am I only defined by these small words ?“, I reply that obviously not, this is not me, this is just the way you find me on the Internet
